Event Log

The chronological record of what happened on a system: logins, changes, errors, access to data. PCI DSS uses the term audit log, and the full entry is under Audit Log / Audit Trail; this one exists because event log is the name most operating systems and tools give the same thing. Requirement 10 says what it must capture, how it must be protected, and how long it must be kept.
